We've had a very nice few days though. David's girlfriend Mandy arrived very early on Thursday -- glad David was the one going to the airport to meet a 7:30am flight! We've really enjoyed having her here.
We went to a wedding on Friday night -- the daughter of some good friends of ours. After the reception (filled with dancing) we came home, changed in to pajamas and "comfy clothes" and played "Imagine If". Mandy was at a distinct disadvantage since she really only knows us a short time, and whatever David has shared with her. We were at more of a disadvantage since we didn't know too much about her. Check out the game some time - you can play with up to 8 people, and it can be good for some laughs! And a lot of indecision at times!
Yesterday (Saturday) Susan and I rode up to Perimeter Mall for what is now becoming her annual trip to go to a particular clothing store she likes. They did not disappoint. Lots of 50-70% items, and a $50 discount when you purchased a certain amount (won't give that away...but as an old friend used to say...we qualified twice! See the full quote down below).
Today was church, then lunch at the food court at the mall. Did you know that the restaurants are SUPPOSED to open at 11am? I think some employees think that means "show up to work at that time" not..."serve customers at that time". 11:15....and the ONLY restaurant in that food court ready to serve folks was Taco Bell! Actually - wasn't bad!
We saw "Charlie Wilson's War". Tom Hanks....Julia Roberts. Very good. An awkward moment (for me at least) when there was a hot tub scene with some frontal nudity. And there we were with both kids, and David's girlfriend. Everyone was over 20...but still... I think the movie could have been perfectly fine without that, and have no doubts that whenever it makes it to TV, they will edit that scene!
Downstairs we have a Raspberry Salsa dip and tortilla chips waiting for anyone who is hungry! Had it one time in Blacksburg while visiting Susan at school, bought the salsa, and took home the recipe. Definitely something I'd make again.
So although it's been a very nice few days, nothing earth shaking is happening, and by now you may be wondering why you are bothering to read this. Probably for the same reason I am typing this....because we're here, at this moment in time. And that's that.
Okay - back to having a "quote for the day"....this is one of my long time favorites that came straight from the mouth of my dear friend, Billy Walker:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Thank you, Billy!
“God watches out for fools, and idiots....and I qualify twice”
